And we're off! We woke up at the mind-numbing hour of 5:00 to catch our flight out of Reno to Seattle for the first leg of our long, long flight. Everything went smoothly, and after this delicious AND nutritious airplane meal:
We landed.
We got into Amsterdam proper around 8:45 in the morning, on Sunday, Feb. 13. There was NO ONE out. We couldn't check into our hotel until 14:00 (i have to get used to european time, you can too. subtract 12, you're fine.), so we went for a walk in the foggy, deserted streets...
This is the hotel we stayed in during the honeymoon when we first came here.....
...and this is my reaction to passing madame tussaud's again. Wax museums really freak me out anyway, but when there are REAL PEOPLE JUMPING OUT AT YOU DISGUISED AS WAX FIGURES, it gets even harder to handle.
ah, yes-- coffee makes things hurt less, and in holland it comes with a complimentary biscuit. yay.
my lunch: old (ie, delicious) cheese broodje on whole when from my favorite bakery in the world (okay, in the us, holland, france and uk... we'll see),

dinner at an incredibly delicious indian restaurant. except i don't think the fish pakora is really how they describe...
