afscheid, amsterdam-- bonjour paris!

we forgot to have laurel and david take our photo in the red tulip. amsterdam fail. but ryan has long arms, so you can still prove we were there. yes. then we had a mad dash to the train station (WHAT? SUSANNE WAS LATE FOR SOMETHING???), getting there just in time!

mostly europeans bring their own lunch on the train. so did we:

can you guess whose lunch is whose? hint: multiple animals did not die for my lunch, hahaha...

and THIS (it's palais garnier, the opera house, which is a misnomer, because operas aren't really performed here anymore, mostly it's ballet) is right by our apartment, in the 9th arrondissement

we got to our hotel and checked in, then went for a twilight walk around paris.

doesn't this view remind you of that part in ratatouille where linguine and the rat finally decide to trust each other? hey, some people are really cool and think about pixar movies while in france. don't judge.

then we had dinner right across the street from the opera house, and watched all the pretty people come out in their theatre clothes....

that french onion soup was not as good as mine. not snobbery. fact. the broth was gray. it's supposed to be brown... it was okay, though.

yay paris!
