long walks, and an old hotel...

since we aren't going to england, and since we have been to amsterdam a lot, we don't have hugely packed agendas. today, we went for lunch and a walk, followed by another walk. first was lunch:

my falafel. this is the best falafel in town, and when you ask for extra sauce, they give you an entire bottle. muhahaha.
ryan's shwarma.

all that was left. those fries were a: not that good, and b: boring. all there is here is fries. i'm over them.

pretty day...

this is the yacht that our hotel has. you can rent it, if you want to charter a canal cruise.

and here's the NH Doelen, our hotel, also known as the oldest hotel in amsterdam. and rembrandt painted the nightwatch on the 3rd floor of this hotel. guess what floor we're staying on???? it was PROBABLY our room. i see no need to investigate further; just take my word for it.

there are the guards.

and that was our dinner. sadly, the wonderful meat and cheese shops where we've gotten picnic stuff before closed before we got there. we'll go back and get pics though, i promise. this is just grocery store stuff.

night time.

our yacht again.

see? read the bottom. told you.

ryan on the same floor, being serious because he's, "sick of smiling like a doofus in all your blog pictures."

ANNOUNCEMENT: I'm thinking about having a contest on this blog, and the winner gets something cool from europe. but first i have to know: would you participate in a contest? comment if you would.
